The Amistad (at Long
Wharf, New Haven) The Amistad is normally located at Long Wharf and may be boarded
for free in the afternoon.
Ansonia Nature Center - Includes
a small nature center with exhibits, a large playground, and lots of hiking trails.
The Center offers classes and programs year-round; see their online calendar of events.
Audubon Coastal Center -
(Milford Pt) Includes a small center for kids with sea tank (crabs & fish), a
computer with learning CD-ROM, and exhibits about the Housatonic River watershed.
Great views of the salt marsh on one side and the Sound on the other side, and you can
walk along the shore picking up shells.
