Location: Wolfe Park, Monroe, main entrance with large wooden playground and
picnic tables. (Note: In the past, if the
weather was unusually warm, homeschoolers met at the Great Hollow Lake side of the park.
Last minutes changes are sent out via email to everyone signed up on the Yahoo
"Events" list.)

More about the parks:
**Wolfe Park, Monroe: This park has a large playground, playing fields,
basketball, tennis, a pond and beach, and groomed paths for walking. Roller blading is
allowed on the walking paths. Directions to the playground side of the park: Route 25
north. At stop sign make a right to Route 111. Go about 1 3/4 miles. Make a left
onto Purdy Hill Road. At stop sign make a right to Cutler's farm road. Go
straight at the next stop sign, the Park will be on your left. We will meet at the
wooden play ground in the back.
[Great Hollow Lake entrance:
Normally we meet at the playground side of Wolfe Park. In the event we meet on the lake
side, here are directions: From highway: Take either Route 95 or 15 to Route 25 north. At
stop light go straight on Route 25 North. Continue until you see Duchess on the Right. At
the stop sign make a right following Purdy Hill Road. After Agway you will see a sign for
Great Hollow Lake. Make a left into the park and follow the drive way until you see the
playground. We will be at either the play ground or the Lake just beyond the playground.]
Short Beach in
Stratford: Short beach is quiet off season. We sometimes bring bikes so
the kids can ride in the parking lots. They have basket ball courts, tennis courts,
ballfields and of course it will be nice for end of season swimming.
From I95 Southbound: Take exit 31. Make a
left and go under the bridge. Continue straight until you get to Main Street. Make a
right to main Street and follow Main Street 1-2 miles.
After you past the hangers at the airport on your right and then the landing strips you
will make the next Left onto Short Beach Rd. Go straight in and we will be at either the
playground or the beach just in front of the play ground.
From I95 Northbound: Take exit 30. Bear right as you come
off the ramp. Go Straight. Follow Lordship Blvd. about 1 mile. Then it will become Access
Road continue straight until Main Street. (Cricket hot-dog stand will be on the right)
Make a right on to Main Street. After you past the hangers at the airport on your right
and then the landing strips you will make the next Left onto Short Beach Rd. Go straight
in and we will be at either the playground or the beach just in front of the play ground.
Sandcastle Park, Fairfield: A large playground near the beach. I-95 to
Exit 22. Go towards the Post Road, cross the Post Road on South Benson Road. Go less than
a mile and you will see a sign for the park and Jennings Beach. Follow the sign to
your left. Follow the road into parking lot and we will meet at the wooden playground.
Long Brook Park, Stratford, Long Brook has a wading pool and snack bar open in July and
August. There is also a small pond with turtles and fish but no swimming, and
a playground.

From I-95: Take exit 32 West Broad Street. From the East go
straight off ramp do not go around the traffic circle. Make a left to Main Street (Rt.
113) going north. **
From the West make a left at the end of
the ramp. Then make a left under I95 go straight, do not go around the traffic circle.
Make a left to Main Street (Rt. 113) going north. **
**Follow Main Street north about 1 mile. When
you see the Mobil Gas station on your
left, take a right onto Wilcoxson Ave. Go a few blocks and take a right onto Charlton Street. The park is
at the end of Charlton. You can park on the street or make a left and park in the lot by
the base ball field.
From points north:
Take Route 8 south to exit 11, Huntington Street. Turn left off the exit ramp
and following Huntington Street all the way down to Main Street in Stratford. Just
before you hit Main Street (you will see it in the distance) take a left onto Fenelon
Street (if you look down Fenelon Street you can see the Mobil gas station on Main Street).
Go straight across Main Street and the road turns into Wilcoxson Ave.
Go a few blocks and take a right onto Charlton Street. The park is
at the end of Charlton. You can park on the street or make a left and park in the lot by
the base ball field.

Owen Fish Park
(It is easiest to come by the Merrit). From the Merrit take exit 46, Route 59. From
the east make a left off highway and at the stop sign make a right to Route 59 south. From
the west make a right off the ramp and at the light make a left to route 59 south. Follow
route 59 south aprox 1.25 miles. Owen Fish Park is on your right. (If you come to
Fairfield Woods Rd you have gone 1/10 mile too far.)
Eisenhower
Park From I-95 South: Eisenhower Park has a wading pool and
shade, but limited seating, so adults might want to bring a lawn chair. Exit 39A to Boston
Post Rd. (US 1). Follow the Boston Post Rd. North till you pass the M&M Farms
store on your right. Shortly thereafter, take a right on to North St. The park
is about a mile up North St. on the Left hand side. If you see Pickles Deli or
Barretta Nursery on your right you just passed it.
From I-95
North: Exit 39A to Boston Post Rd. (US 1). Follow the Boston Post Rd.
North till you pass the M&M Farms store on your right. Shortly thereafter, take
a right on to North St. The park is about a mile up North St. on the Left hand
side. If you see Pickles Deli or Barretta Nursery on your right you just passed it.
From the Merritt and Wilbur Cross Parkways (RT. 15 North and South): Take exit 56.
Take a right onto Grassy Hill Road. Follow Grassy Hill Road into Milford.
At that point it becomes North St. When you see the "Orchards Golf
Course" on your left the park entrance is just ahead on your right.
