Homeschoolers (FCH) is a private email list comprised of members of Southern
Fairfield County Homeschoolers and Between Counties Home Educators, both homeschooling
support groups affiliated with the Connecticut Homeschool Network (CHN). Its purpose is to
provide support, share information, and to create social and educational opportunities for
homeschoolers in Fairfield County, CT. This
email group provides homeschoolers in the area a means of staying in touch with other
homeschoolers in southwestern Connecticut (Fairfield County and adjacent areas of New
Haven County). By subscribing, you will learn about upcoming events and will have
the ability to post questions or comments you have to the group.
The group serves a wider area and a greater
number of people than the Between Counties Group. If you post a message that applies
to Between Counties, be sure to specify "Between Counties" in the subject line.
Our system is putting faith and trust in each and
everyone of you to respect the list and post ONLY homeschooling related items/offerings,
no personal business marketing, political, religious, unconfirmed virus alerts, e-mail
chain mail.
To join the list, you must be a member of either Between Counties
or Southern Fairfield County Homeschoolers. Once you join either group, you will
receive information about how to join the the FCH list.

Email List FAQ -- Please read!! (this is information you will receive if you sign up for the list)
Fairfield County Homeschoolers (FCH) is an email list comprised of
members of Southern Fairfield County Homeschoolers and Between Counties Home Educators,
both homeschooling support groups affiliated with the Connecticut Homeschool Network
(CHN). Its purpose is to provide support, share information, and to create social and
educational opportunities for homeschoolers in Fairfield County, CT.
F-C-HJunior is a fully moderated list for the kids of FCH list
members. This is a fun way for computer-savvy kids to communicate.
FCH-VirtualTagSale is an announcement-only list where FCH list
members can post information about items they are interested in selling, giving away, or
swapping.
When you sign up with Yahoo Groups, you will be given four
choices: you may receive all emails sent to the list individually as they are posted, you
may receive a daily digest, you may receive only special notices (issued only by the
moderator, which will be very rare), or you may elect not to receive any emails and
instead go to our Yahoo Groups home page to read messages.
The FCH and FCH Virtual Tag Sale lists are unmoderated, which
means all members may post a message directly to the list. In contrast, the FCH Kids List,
FCH Junior, is a fully moderated list; all posts are pre-approved by the moderator (Kira
Williams).
All members will receive all posted messages, including replies
(unless they have chosen either the "no email" or "special notices"
option and instead read messages on our Yahoo Groups website). If you do not want your
reply to be posted to the entire list, then be sure to reply to the sender's personal
email address as opposed to the group email address. The exception is the FCH Virtual Tag
Sale list, which is an announcement-only list. Replies will automatically go to the
original poster, not the entire list, unless the reply is made to a daily digest.
When replying to a post, please delete as much of the original
post as possible from your reply so that those receiving the daily digest do not receive
multiple copies of the original post. (Digests can be very lengthy!) In addition, please
send simple "Thank yous" and other similar messages privately.
All meetings, events, and activities posted to the list will also
be placed on our calendar at our Yahoo Groups website, so please check the calendar
regularly to see what's there.
It is expected that we will all treat each other with civility and
respect, and if disagreements arise as a result of a discussion on the list, that those in
disagreement will take their discussion "off list." "Flaming"
(personal attacks) will not be allowed.
All postings must be related to homeschooling in some way. Please
no political or religious posts, no chain letters, no advertisements, etc.
If you are unclear whether or not something is appropriate for the
list, please check with Kira Williams first at kira.w@softcentric.com.
Individuals who repeatedly do not abide by the above guidelines
may be removed from the list.
