Length: 20-33 inches.                                                     

Color: Black or brown or tan or orange or red.

Habitat: Sandy and gravely open areas.

Range: Massachusetts to Florida to Texas to Wisconsin.

Diet: Primarilly toads, but it will eat frogs and incects too.

Notes: When you approach it, it will "play dead" and go on its back.  If you flip it face-up it will hiss at you and then play dead again!
