ATLANTIC LEATHERBACK  Dermochelys coriacea

Length: Up to six feet.                                                              

Color: Bluish-black.

Habitat: Deep open water.

Range: They are found worldwide, as far north as Alaska and as far south as Africa.

Where in CT?: One occasionally swims into long island sound.

Diet: Jellyfish, squid, fish, and other sea creatures.

Notes: They are endangered.  They are the largest reptile in the world.
