ATLANTIC LOGGERHEAD Caretta caretta caretta Length: Can be
nine feet long. But it's normally only three feet long.
Color: Redish-brown.
Habitat: Fairly shallow water.
Range: As far north as Alaska, eastern Russia, and Norway, and as far
south as Australia and South Africa.
Where in CT?: Uncommon in Long Island Sound.
Diet: Sponges, jellyfish, crabs, clams, fish, squid, oysters, algae and other plants as
well.
Notes: They are endangered. Very, Very, big.
