EASTERN WORM SNAKE Carphophis amoenus

Length: 7-11 inches                                                  

Color: Brown with pink underbelly

Habitat: It is secretive and occurs in forested and wooded habitats where the soil allows burrowing. It has been found under all manner of surface objects, including logs, tree bark, boards, rocks, and trash, as well as in moist logs and stumps.

Range: Southern New England to Georgia to Ohio to Mississippi.

Diet: Worms but also soft shelled insects.

Notes:Closely resembles an earthworm in both appearence and size.
