NORTHERN BLACK RACER        Coluber constrictor

Length: 36-60 inches.                                                        

Color: All black with some white on its face.

Habitat: Fields, shurubby places, wooden areas with sunny opening, rock ledges, and wetland borders.

Range: From Alabama to Maine.

Diet: Toads, forgs, garter snakes, copperheads, brown snakes, ringneck snakes, turtles, and even rattlesnakes!

Notes: They are twice as fast as reglular snakes.  They're very hard to catch.   When it is caught, it will bite (It is not venomous but bites still hurt.) and slither until it gets away.  Often reteats up into trees and bushes when persued.   On sunny days they can be found sunning themselves on flat rocks.
