Because I have a science background and teach
homeschool science everyone keeps asking me what we do. I have been trying to use
the Classical Schooling method of teaching in a logical, orderly progression, as described
in "The Well Trained Mind". The authors of that popular book are not
scientists, and I find their approach to the sciences to be rather scattered, so I've had

I like the idea of teaching basic
physics concepts early, though I don't have much of a physics background. I did

You don't teach a child to read
before he learns the abc's. So here's a thought: Teach kids about the elements

Geology

Most kids want to learn how to
identify the rocks they find outside. Let me caution you that it's harder than it
looks. Even a trained geologist cannot always identify a rock just by looking at
